Adding a custom field to calendar in month view

Hiya

Can someone advise me if (and of course how) to add a users custom profile field to the monthly view of a calendar

For example, when viewing the calendar in monthly view you see someone's birthday, straight after their name I want one of the custom fields that they have set in their profile to show

For my purposes I have set a custom field as being their employment grading - a 4 letter acronym, so I want to show "Brian - ABCD"

have you tried to mod the templates at all?

I have tried modding the templates and have managed to get fixed words I type to show however I have not managed to get any additional items from the posted record to show, what variables should be used and how ?

I mamaged to get the calendar to show this but cant seem to get it to extract one or more entries from within the list
