Question on links

A couple of graphics on my forum have been linked to pictures in posts.
Is this normal or will it raise bandwidth on a busy website
Im not sure if the images would be better saved to a directory on the server

Bandwidth consumption will be the same, but you will put some load on the mysql server. Move them to a folder.
