vb2 ----------> vb3 skins

Is there a way to convert skins? Because god knows how lazy i am.

Also, when you back up your DB from admin panel, what exactly are you backing up? Can that back up put back all your posts and stuff? All your members?

the backup you get from AdminCp is the entire database vBulletin uses(including custom tables added by you) ;)

so it can restore posts and stuff as well!?!?

anything that is stored in the vBulletin database should be in that backup as long as you chose that table to be backed up;)

The code in the vB3 templates is different, so you have to re-code the whole skin for vB3. You can port images easily, but more will be required as there are new buttons/images in vB3.

Spend between 10-20 hours porting over the style :) its not for thoughs who are lazy at all and its not an easy process at the least, I think the last style i ported took me... at least 8 hours if not more. The person was insanely picky about a few things :)

If it is colors + custom images its a rather easy process, when you get into heavy html modification you begin to look at alot of time behind the keyboard ;).

Images and Colors for the most part come right over, after that its not too simple when you are stuck in a bad html 4.02 coding style with near 0 CSS support.

at first its hard since the coding is alot different from vb2 but after an hour or two its really easy to know where everything is on the style to edit anything.
