Sharing Forum

Question for you all... I have looked around and founf nothing..

If we have multiple sites, but want to have one central forum, can this be done?

Let me explain somemore. We have 3 sites. But, we want to have 1 forum installed. It is not because we are cheap, we want to have a central discuss area for all visitors. So, if we have:

www.site1.com/forums and we want www.site2.com and www.site3.com to have access to /forums can this be done easlily? I am not sure if it requires a redirect to www.site1.com/forums or if we can have it wrapped somehow to use a template for the sites.

Any suggestions would be a great help.

Thanks

You want to have ONE vb working succesfully on 3 sites?

Call it how you want...

I want 3 sites to have access to the same database... So, it can be 1 forum, or 3 forums, but the info and post should be that same.

So, does that mean multiple licenses? Not a big deal... Does it mean creating a different skin for each and linking to a different site for DB access? I am not sure..

I am looking for the best way or suggestions to do so.

pretty sure u cant access the database from an outside connection so all 3 sites will proberly have to be on the same server.I may be wrong though like i usually am :)

They are all on the same server.

So, that is 1 less problem.

You can access the database from an outside connection - very large sites take advantage of this by using multiple computers to divided up the load of a site. For instance, you could have three machines - a top of the line machine to run the database, a weaker one to handle php parsing, and a weaker one still to serve images and static html files.

Ok,

That sounds cool, but how can this be implemented? Any links or refs?

Thanks
