X7 Chat - vbulletin integration

--
I was recently referred by a fellow web community admin to a free chat system that is PHP based called:

X7 Chat - http://www.x7chat.com

On our community we have tried SigmaChat (premium version), and other java and PHP chats... but none really integrate that well, or is loaded with 'IRC' like features. Why PHP chat? well, alot of our members are behind firewalls at school/work, and we need a PHP chat system.

This X7 Chat looks GREAT and is loaded with features for a free chat system, however, noone as done an integration for vBULLETING yet. even though there is a need for one:

I am not a coder by trade and this X7 chat looks like a big hit and would be great for vbulletin users. Would someone be able to look into X7 and see if there is a way to integrate it with vBulletin?

I second the request for the x7 integration mod. :)
I actually have it integrated already as far as user logins go, but I'd like to be able to show the users in chat in the who's online module somehow. Thanks in advance!

How did you integrate it with vBulletin? I'm very interested in trying this one.

Thanks!

Thanks!

First and foremost, you use this at your own risk. Backup your database and your files!

I have this running in vBulletin 3.6.5!

Download X7 Chat, read install.txt in the Docs folder, upload the X7 Chat files and then upload the attached file to overwrite the one in the /forum_directory/X7_directory/lib/auth. Then go through the install procedure ignoring the errors and inputting your vBulletin forum database details in stage 1. In the final stage input your vBulletin forum Admin username and password, otherwise you won't get Admin access in X7 Chat.

All the authentication script does is authenticate forum members and adds them as members of X7 Chat. It doesn't use anything else from the forums, doesn't use the vBulletin member groups and has its own profiles, avatars, etc. Ripe for a good hack I'd say.

I didn't write this and I don't own it but since X7 Chat is open source under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE I'm assuming that I'm not breaking any rules nor any copyright in posting the file here. If I'm wrong then please accept my sincerest aplogies.
