vbulletin and eBay integration mod?

I was surprised not to find one out there already, actually. (Unless there is one and I'm not seeing it.)

With all of the developers tools for both eBay and PayPal, it seems like integrating part of eBay into vB would be feasible. I'm looking for something where I could either provide my users with a forum for their eBay listings, or maybe even a seperate component on index.php which shows eBay listings from each user (either entered manually or taken from some minor integration.)

Or even a way to add an eBay ID box (similar to the messenger ID) to the members list?

Several of my users use eBay and have wanted a way to 'neatly' throw out some additional advertising for the listsings on the forum. Would it possible to do this even with HTML tags/codes?

I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to modding, but thought this to be a good suggestion - at least for those that use eBay....?

You could add an extra profile field to the profile and the add a simple template edit to the postbit templates to link to the users eBay account.

after posting this, i did manage to edit my postbit, creating an icon next to the messenger icon and adding a postfield that allowed me to link to a sellers page.

I was just looking for something more extensive - but I'm probably thinking out of my league here, not knowing much about developers tools for eBay or vB.

thanks for the suggestion!

I'm using the editor kit on my site to display an auction list using a search term users add to their profile. I added the profile field to the code that you use on your site so the list is automacally generated when you open the page. It should work the same way by using ebay user ID's. The kit can be found here. http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?EKCreate (If your not an affiliate sign up and you will get some commision from this ;) )

Attached is a screen shot of how it should look.

Mine is set up to use the profile field of whoever is viewing the page (global.php) so it's pretty simple. Yours will be a little more involved, but could be accomplished by creating another template for member.php (member.php?&do=ebay)

I might take a look at it if I have time.

hey, what you've got there is exactly what i'm wanting. is there any way that you'd be interested in showing me the edits you did in order to get to where you're at in the attachment?

do i need the affiliate kit for this?

I don't think you have to be an affiliate, just have an Ebay account.

Here is the modified version using the members Ebay ID from a profile field. (I don't have any auctions so I used a random Ebay ID in my profile to list the auctions)

I'll try to throw some instructions together.

hey, that's great. so i signed up for the commission and managed to get the Editor Kit, but how would i incorporate this straight into my vB? Would I create a link for each user (that I would have to create manually via the editor kit) or can i just somehow use the global field of $post[field11] (my eBay user ID field) to inject my user's eBay ID's into the editor kit's URL?

This is all too much for me - my head is swimming. Can you point me in the right direction?

Since you already have the profile field set up, here is a quick how-to that I threw together. I'll have to clean the instructions up later and add it as a complete hack.
