vb 3.0.0 to 3.0.3, will my 2 hacks be lost?
 

It's been a long time since I've done a VB upgrade with hacks installed (vb2 days)..

I'm currently running vb 3.0.0 with shoutbox hack 1.0.3 and vbarcade (version ??).

I'd like to upgrade to 3.0.3 here pretty soon and was wondering on what steps I should take. Just upgrade and then reinstall the latest versions of the hacks completely?

Moving on

After the upgrade you will need to redo any file changes and you may need to reinstall some templates :)

if you change all the files then you'll need to reedit the files for the hacks
and then run the installiation to add the templates ..

i did an upgrade with shoutbox in it i just added the templates and it worked fine

Allrighty, I'll upgrade and get 'em reinstalled. Glad I haven't hacked it up too much :)

Before you re-hack you might want to take a look at these threads to make upgrading less painless next time you have to do it.

Upgrading using file compare programs is your only way of upgrading without losing hacks. Although, since you are jumping 3 versions, I wouldn't advise this, and just re-install the hacks as it will end up being less work in the end.
