Changing the background textures of navbar, but...

OK on the main css page in the admin CP there are options to change the background texture for the "Category Strips" and the "Help Popup Menu Controls" but when I set these two different background textures it makes the popups that appear in the "Category Strips" the color of the navbar. I don't want this. I want my navbar to use one texture and I want the entire "Category Strips" bar to use another background texture, whether it's a popup or not. I don't like that the "Category Strips" bar is one texture, but then on the right side of the same bar where it says things like "Forum Tools", "Search this forum", etc. is the texture of my navbar.

Can somebody help me please remedy this problem?

I was thinking that the easiest way to solve this would be to change it so that in the Main CSS settings in the admin cp both settings of the "Category Strips" and the navbar were set to the color I wanted the entire Category Strips then somehow :nervous: change it so that the navbar only used the new texture that I want.

My main concern is that the navbar is smaller in height than the height of the Category Strip. Since I like to add highlighting to the bottom of my textures it's important that the texture that is a specific height is used only in places that are that exact height.

Please help as this something that is relatively simple. Well.. not that simple. :ermm:

If I understand correctly;

Add a new class in your CSS and just edit the templates accordingly. Much more flexible this way.

How do I add new CSS that doesn't already exist?

No, add a new class in your CSS. Go to Edit All Styles Options on the template. At the bottom of the that page there's a box with some styles in, just add it there.
