Forum-specific additional thread posting fields

Hi,

I posted this over at vbulletin.com but realised it's probably more applicable here.

Does anyone know the best way of having certain forums use an additional field in the new thread page (for example, on a Post Your Car forum, you have an additional field to put in your car for the thread you are posting)?

Any help gratefully appreciated.
