Email notification of moderation queue

We have a system setup on our site whereby a new user's first two posts go into the moderation queue. After approval and publication of those two posts, the user automatically becomes a normal registered member (so far, this has basically solved our spam problem).

However, it's a pain to have to open the moderation queue panel to check for new threads/posts on a regular basis. I'd love a way to send an email when there's an entry in the queue, or maybe just display an indicator on a vBulletin page that only the mods could see.

Anything out there that does similar that I could hack into such a tool?

Thanks;

I second this request. I only have 1 or two users who are moderated, and it's a real pain to have to manually check for their posts all the time.

Surely it would be easy to setup something that would send you a PM when something has arrived in the moderation queue?

I'll 3rd it - I need both forum post and calendar event post moderation notification (I'm currently using the "send email to" functionality for calendar event posts, but the link provided in the email doesn't work as the event isn't on the calendar yet - so it's very much a bandaid solution).

I'd also like user notification for moderation:
When posting an event have a "Your event will be appear once it has been approved by a moderator" message appear - currently the user is brought back to the calendar, they don't see their event, they repost it several times, then they send me a PM - "your calendar doesn't work"!

When a moderator approves an event, the originating poster would the receive a PM or email - "Your event <Event Name> has been approved and is now on the calendar".

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I know some of these posts are old now but the requirement for moderation queue notifications is still there.

As such I have just released my own MOD that takes care of this for us. It also has support for a desktop app or any other app you may want to develop that can read in .xml files.
