Using external.php
I have been looking for a hack to display the latest X amount of threads on a non-vB page. I would want to be able to edit its formatting, something like
$title Posted by $username on $date in $forumname I discovered external.php whilst searching these boards but have no clue how to use it. Can anyone enlighten me please? |
You could use external.php, but if you want this for the same website i'd suggest you directly query the database as this gives better performance (no need to parse the RSS again).

I'm unsure how to do this, I'm more of a visual developer than a programmer. Is this simple to do?

I used a small hack that requires you to only include a php file, you setup the info in that file and include it and it displays how I requested. Wasn't sure about external.php ....
