I know this should be a fairly simple hack.. but I'm new at this and am not certain how to go about it. Basically I want a small icon to automatically appear in a members postbit when he has been registered at our forums for 1 year, then a new icon for each year, currently I have 1,2,3 and 4 year icons, and I have to apply them manually via a, admin only profile field. I keep missing out on people cause we have 2000+ members.

So it would be nice to have a hack that shows a certain icon based on time since join date, and nothing if they are under 1 year registered =\

Anyone help me out? I browsed the forums here in both vb2 and vb3 and found nothing.

i believe you can use the user rank system and combine it with the promotions system(which you can define how many days the user needs to be registered before being promoted). hope this helps;)

Yeah.. that should work.. but can anyone tell me how to do that? or at least whhere to look in the code?

create a new usergroup for each yearly mark, then under the usergroup dropdown in admincp click on promotions, then select add new promotion. from there you can set how many days registered before their promoted. now just add a rank image for each specific yearly mark usergroup or give each yearly mark usergroup a title with an image;)

I don't think he want's it as rank images but rather like this :)

hmm.. yes, thanks.. I might be able to tweak that to exactly what I want to achieve. I didn't want the promotion system as I already have more usergroups than I care for. And I reall y don't need extra permissions based on years registered, just a little recognition.
