Some help, if you could

WE currently have an admin under fire at our forum, someone has claimed this person as an admin, can go through peoples pm boxes with the bulletin Version 3.0.3

The admin is denying it, but the other mods say he can, some info would be helpful. thank you.

Sorry i was avuing trouble posting, if this is the wrong section, sorry and please move it to the correct section, thankyou.

Yes Admins can view members PMs if they have the hack installed. Or they can go into the database using phpmyadmin to view members PMs. There is nothing private about private messages on vb.

It is possible, but unless he stated somthign when you signed up private messages are that, private. While its possible that does not mean its right to do so unless there is a very specific reason such as user harrasment or perhaps conspiricy to hack the site O.o.

Anyway good luck with whats going on.

Another qeastion, do you need this addon for vBulletin Version 3.0.3 or can the admin of the website freely go through peoples pm's.

scummy 10-01-2004 01:31 PM

Any info chaps?

Well, as long as he has direct acces to the db (and as admin he should) he can always read members pms.

The addon just makes it more comfortable, but it is not needed, he can also look directly into the db.
