Online FAQ

Now, my question is, how many users at once can access this server? For instance, can this server handle 200 co-current users at once? And that amount of bandwidth, is that a good amount for a huge board?

Personaly i would not go with 1&1 they seem to have alot of negitive feedback.

If its a dedicated server why are they limiting any of your options on a DEDICATED (YOUR OWN) server?

yeah if its dedicated you should have unlimited(aka unmetered) everything also you dont mention disk space.....

Well everything unmereted that is contained within the box (within the limits of the hardware). Bandwith is about the only thing you should have a limit on outside of a few things (IP's, any additional outside features they are providing you with, like floodgaurd (server matrix)).

With all honesty guys. I'm looking for a great host, that can handle atleast 200-300 members online, and great bandwidth. Great everything, including price.

If you want a greaet host, you need to be willing to part with abit of cash.

I would suggest looking at theplanet.com or servermatrix.com. SM is cheeper but its not fully managed. SM's prices might be abit more money but i am almost positive that their servers are better. IIRC the 1&1 servers are all under 2ghz.

Again, so I can get the best feedback. I'm planning to use this with 3 websites I am planning host off. They will be used for business purposes. Meaning, no down time and top notch speed. The fourth website will be my personal forums, and will take up 99% of everything on the server.

How much users can be on this server? :

Again, thank you for your feedback.

1&1 are terrible hosts. I would not reccomend them to anyone :)

Anyone else?

I looked at 1&1....ended up going to servermatrix. The servers are not managed (fully) but thanks to a few guides I got it up and running (which actually took very little), checked over and have found the support to be not lacking at any level.

I can't imagine what benefit I'd get from fully managed over the speedy responses and alike I have had so far.

Of course there are other hosts that have great reps.

We are using the SS24 and it's hardly even noticing our site is there.

Dns was the only major stumbling block, having only one machine...SM sorted on theres despite numerous alias and changes.
