uncontactable members posting service requests

It's A Little Rant - Sorry

Can there be a condition added to the service requests forum so that you have to either have an email address in your profile or accept PM's so that you can be contacted about your request?

I'm trying to reach a member and have no way of doing as they have even got their homepage set to vB.org which doesn't help either.

Either that or can it be that people can reply to the posts in there.

There is nothing more annoying than working out time and effort required for a job and pricing it up (taking at least 15 mins to be accurate) and then finding that your PM wont send.

In order to even be able to post on the site you need a email address that shows your license. I take it he/she hasn't read any of your PMs?

It is already indirectly stated in a sticky thread that you must post private contact information: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=57390 ; and directly in an announcement: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/announcem...ouncementid=14 .

Pardon?

I'm a licenced customer and have been for just shy of a year. I was responding to a request by someone else for some help but couldn't reach them.

No they haven't responded to PM's as they have got Private Messaging DISABLED and there is NO email address in their profile, NO homepage to try that way (they have it set to vb.org which is extremely useful  )

They have most likely set it so that they DO NOT recieve email via the site.

I tried searching for the same user name on vBT and vB.com and it is not there, but they could have just used a different username.

But how many people actually read that?????

I think it should be in big red letters at the top of that forum and possibly in the create new thread/post for that forum too. That way there is no getting away with saying that you didn't know.

I'm not one for reading announcements (yes I know it gets me in bother sometimes) so I know that there will be [a lot of] others like me in that respect.

If no contact information is available then should the thread be still open? I say NO!

if you cannot reach a service requester you can report his post and we'll look into and ask him to give an addy. :)
