little problem with userstats specialtemplates

i've moved the "Currently Active Users" code to globals.php to be able to display it on all pages. it works fine, except the name of the newest member. it's only displayed when i add 'userstats' to the $specialtemplates array in every php-file.

adding $specialtemplates = array('userstats'); to global.php doesn't work - what do i have to add to make it work?
