Looking for a Hack to Allow Users to change their Username
 

Hi all,

After playing around with phpBB2, I just decided to buy Vbulletin. The reason being is that it offers me the possibility of paid subscriptions through Authorize.net, and since I already have an account with them it makes things easier.

Our Company Goal:
-Sell subscriptions and allow only members to post stuff for sale(everybody else only reply).

How users buy Subscriptions:
1) Through the website using authorize.net as pymt gateway.
2) We sell a discount card at motorcycle rallys that includes raffle tickets and 1 year membeship (PVC cards have serial number imprinted)

My Solution so far:
1) Pre register users using Card Serial Number as the Username/Pwd
2) When user buy the card, he logs in for the first time and before any posting, he changes is username and password.

Question:
1)Vbulettin won't allow users to change their usernames. I read a post mentioning a hack that add this feature. Which hack is that ? I can't find it.
2)I don't know PHP and will have to user whatever is out there. Any suggestions on the solution for the problem above will be highly appreciated.
