New tablet on the way

I just ordered this from Newegg: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/...&seg=HHO&sel=1

(Upgrades from base: 512 MB RAM, Wifi)

The M200/M205 is generally considered the best convertable tablet made. I'm glad I sold my laptop early enough so I didn't have to spend the full $1900 on it. You can even play Quake 3 on it...it has a Geforce FX 5200Go. Might even handle UT2k4. Best part is that it should also function like a Wacom tablet which means:

1. Moving the stylus slightly above the screen moves the mouse.
2. Pressing down lightly registers as a light stroke in Photoshop (or a click).
3. Pressing down hard registers as a darker stroke (or a click).
4. You can rest your hand on the screen and use the stylus at the same time, and given that the stylus works though magnetics, only it would be recognized.
5. A button on the stylus can make a tap a right-click when pressed, so one-handed mousing.
6. No wrist destruction from a mouse or trackpad.

Psyched. Overnight shipping from Newegg but I ordered at night so it'll probably ship tomorrow.

She's here  and I've been playing around all day. I'm so used to the 10.4" XGA screen on my old laptop that the 12.1" SXGA+ screen on this one feels huge.

Installing SP2 now, particurally because it includes a lot of tablet-specific enhancements.

She's pretty good. One complaint I have that SP2 might help is that the handwriting recognition is very dictionary-reliant. Entering in something not in the dictionary will make it guess from the dictionary instead of trying harder to read your handwriting.

Still very good. It's very comfortable to put it in tablet mode and lean it towards you. Because the pen is active, you can rest your arm on the screen and it doesn't register as a bunch of taps.

edit: Also, because I used my PayPal debit card for the 1.5% cash back ($28 :D), PayPal called me asking if the charge was fraudulent. This was by far the most expensive thing I've bought with it. Luckily the limit is $3,000.

Good to hear now I've just got to find someone who has one to try it :D

CompUSA has a model on display. Unfortunately, they secured it so you can't rotate the screen and the pen was gone.
