HOw to space image for 100% of width

Ok, I worked on the Header image today at my site , but can't figure out how to do this:

I want the image to stretch (or be 100% of top width). I know you have to use a spacer image for the middle, so I could fade each half of the image to black, and use black as the spacer image. Any idea how to to modify the code to do this? :confused:

Simply set the table cell background to black. (bgcolor="#000000")
