Site-Forum Integration (not portal), possibly SHTML?

We're looking to see if we can get some of the forum stats onto that page without having to change the site into just another forum portal. The only parts we want to be forum-based are...
  • Who's Online stats
  • Forum stats - eg total thread/post/member counts
  • Last five topics posted.
Nothing more than that. Now, I know that it's been done before at various sites - or at least the five topics bit has - and I know that there is a thread for integrating Who's Online into php pages in the final releases forum for vB3 hacks, but I can't find anything that let's me get all three done. If anyone can help, Cid and I (along with the rest of the EoFF staff) would really appreciate it.
