Limit FM Moderator Options
 

This is a small vB 3.0.3 hack to limit moderator options assigned via the vB Forum Manager (FM) for members who currently do NOT have any moderating abilities, such as regular members.

Say you want another moderator, but you do not want that moderator to be a board-wide moderator, so you set the moderator up via the FM, but still that moderator has more privileges than you want, so that is where this hack comes in.

It allows you to give a regular member, one who does NOT currently have any moderating abilities, the ability to perform a limited set of moderating tasks.

These FM moderators will only be able to perform the following tasks after this hack is installed:

• Open / Close Thread
• Move Thread only! (cannot Copy Thread, cannot leave Redirect, cannot set New Subject)
• Stick / Unstick Thread

Also, these FM moderators will not see the options for other forum or thread moderating tasks.

It is important that you have your usergroups/permissions set correctly before installing this hack!

Some moderators to add
- added via the vB adminCP Forum Manager

With this hack, the Thread Tools dropdown shows the following Admin Tools for FM mods:

• Open / Close Thread
• Move Thread (only shows move option)
• Stick / Unstick Thread

As such, there is no need for a screenshot for this hack.

Support is offered via this thread, but only as time allows!

Note: This hack was written by me. I did not see another such hack, although one may exist.
