disable specific forums from archive access

I'd like to disable specific forums from being archived. Can someone help me out with that?

What do you mean exactly? the archive is just a text only version of the forums that uses the permissions system.

correct, but here's the deal..

I have permissions set so guests can see the whole board, but in showthread.php I have it display a 'no permission' message for specific forums. This way, they can see the thread title in the listing, but they cannot read the content. This is forum-specific though.

I want to do the same exact thing with the archive, I just haven't figured out the code yet and was hoping someone could help.
