Thumbnail of attachement on forum display
 

I'm seeing this exact method being used on cgtalk.com and I could really use something like this on my site. However I don't know how to code it. You can see it in action here:

It auto formats the thumbnails to a specific size by adding black. Very cool. If anyone knows how to do this it would be a great tool for alot of site's that are about photos, graphics, or images.. etc.

this can easily be done by calling the first or random thumbnail from attachements for each topic.. the resize and black-spaces is added differently, by coding the GD to do the job...

easily? lol.. maybe for a php coder. Looks like I need to hit the php4dummies books ;)

maybe not easy for a newbie, but as i tell this, it may give some hints for someone else that wil ltake the time to do the hack... on my side, i do only paid requests because of my situation... but anyway.. i give hints when needed.

i have seen this done http://www.cgtalk.com with their new gallery system, it does give an impressive look and the way it has been described above is correct;)

I'm going to bump this one last time in hopes that someone will take interest in coding this feature for vbulletin.org users. This visual gallery feature would be GREAT for sites that focus on artwork and visual media.
