Debate System
 

What I am looking for is a system for debating on vB - It would be based on multiple usergroups which would be teams and would have a method for scoring the debates and other things that would go along with a formal debate.

this would be pretty cool..

So anyone out there that can help me with this one ? I might be able to come up with some funding to help compensate for the time involved.

I'm actually working on something similar for my board. Had not planned to release it as a hack because I didn't think anybody else would want it.

What kind of features would you be looking for?

On my board, I am setting up a special forum in which one member can challenge another to a debate. The debate would be posted when both sides have contributed their position.

The debate could then be scored by the other members, who would be able to comment in the debate thread.

The Rap Battle hack is overkill.... but would it be suitable at all?

I was looking for something where 2 teams of members could engage in a debate - Say like 2 teams of 3 people or something like that. Maybe use publically joinable usergroups to do it or something. The other features were right on the money as to what I was looking for - Just support for teams instead of individuals.
The Rap battle system isn't really efficient for a Debate system - It could be used for one but it doesn't do the job very effectively. I already tried it to see if it would work . . .
