user defined links

i have been thinking about using profile fields for doing this, but i'm sure that it could be done easier / better.

user can insert url and link title (two form fields) and the link displays wherever i put the variable. easy peasy. user can add more than 1 link etc, maybe "add link" up to around 5 links.

well, i have attached a screenshot to help explain a bit better. don't mind the "key combos" bit, unless you know how to implement that too, if so, i'll have another request popping up soon :D

i would like to then display these links (if any are entered) in the header (or similar) so that members have quick access to their favourite links.

character limit on the link titles would be very handy. also, maybe if the input page for this could be part of the user control panel, it would be easy to link to the page for people to add their own links. both from the link display area (header etc) and linked in the user cp options.
