Input on multigaming group site

Hello,
I run an 18+(age) community oriented multigaming group. We are starting to grow and our need for a more feature rich forum and portal have definitely became an issue.
I'm currently in the process of moving everything from phpbb to vb. I have been using phpnuke with it and since I'm not much of a coder/developer and would rather not rely much on others to do stuff... I've chosen to get another portal.

I see alot of posts in here about various portals, but none that have really answered the questions which I have. Which portal would be best for me to use seeing that we will be needing to have several categories(games we play), I've purchased vbportal and it seeems to be basically the same as phpnuke was. From what I've read..it's heavy on the queries however. I plan on adding alot of the useful hacks I've found here and I'm assuming I want to keep the queries down to a minimum. What portal would you suggest knowing that I will be having tons of different usergroups and that the members should have ease of getting information on the news they desire.

Sorry for being a bit vague, but running a group of this fashion is quite a change from just running clans as I was previously. Our community is more mature and would like to take advantage of the features in the forum/portal to its fullest. I'm attempting to supply their needs regardless of which game they play with us.

What would you do? THoughts? Suggestions? Questions? HHEEELLLPPP

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

shameless bump.
This has been the most supportive hack community I have seen. Nobody has any comments which will assist me in my choosing?

there is so much debates about portals, nobody can answer, because it depend on each needs, each interests... the released portals here are all answering the needs of most users using them...

vBportal is the one that would interest you more, because you were using phpnuke, and vBportal is based on it... but is not free, as the vBportal team offer professional support for guys that are not used to be phpcoders like you... http://www.vbportal.com/
