'vBulletin service provider'

I have a spare vB license lying around collecting dust, acully it is one I bought last xmas and never got around to using. Over the last month or so I have relized I no longer have any urge to build the site I was planning to.

I got to thinking about offering vBulletin services, I see alot of style sites poping up all the time but I do not want to go that direction. What I want to do is take on some clients who need someone to help them operate a hacked board, or need custom upgrade/import/installtion that is outside the scope of what jelsoft will do.

I am considering this for two reasons, the first begin I need some extra pocket money because I am between jobs, the second begin the number of people that mention begin ripped off via the service request forum. I've been ripped off (client did'nt pay for custom work) and I know how bad it is.

I am posting this thread to hear some feedback, do you think it is a good idea? How would this community feel if I where to open such a site?

i think its a great idea but your not the only one who has thought of such a service, you are competiting against others such as vbmechanic, and many other private coders>_> even though many do not have a business site up, you will have lots of competition. Anyways if you ever need help im not too far;)

I still have the design aspects of that project. I also have a very active ipb forum on that domain to, just because it is serving a small tight nit user base and I don't see the need to buy a third vB just for that community yet.

I may just split the community into two over one vBulletin, one for general disscusstion and one for clients, im not sure yet. I only consider that option because I don't like ipb (1.3), and i've been posting with the members of that smaller board sense I started using the internet. Communitys like that are really werid, now a days we just disscuss how old everyone is getting. :p
