BBCode Parsing
 

I am writing a custom blog that is integrated into vbulletin for someone and I am curious as to what functions I would use to parse the generic text and still follow the same rules set forth in the admincp that are applied to the forum. Things live converting urls, etc etc.

Is there any documentation on how to format this text and use it in external scripts? I am including the global.php into the app and such so all functions and such should be there.

I think the biggest things I am looking for is the smilies, and formating the text with both html and vb code.

the best thing is to go to your /includes/ directory and read the content of each functions_xxx.php you can deal with... they contain the functions that filter text etc... each functions file contain functions related to their context (functions_bbcodeparse.php parse everything related to bbcodes...)
