WMNews Ver 0.3 and VB3 Integration
Hi,
Is it possible to integrate WMNews Ver 0.3 and VB3? The version 0.3 of WMNews is excellent and I want to add a news section to my board. I want the WMNews script to have the same look and feel as my vbulletin. WMNews has a feature where visitors can comment to each news article posted. What I would like do have is whenever someone post a comment to a news article it will automatically show up as a new thread with the news article as the first thread and the comment as a reply to that thread. Features that would be great to have also are:
If anyone can think of more features that can be added please do. You can find the WMNews script here: http://wartamikael.org/PHPScripts/?product=WMNews Thank you :) |
Tried contacting the guys at VB Mechanics http://www.vbmechanic.com/ but I got no reply. Is the owner of that company apart of this forum?

VB Mechanics guys are on vacation, or forgot their ticket service lately... and yes, vbmechanics is appart of this site, he is no longer in the community, working in solo!
strangemly, i find your description as looking exactly like what all the vB portals can handle... so why not use CMPS or other portals to do it ? |

I like this news software very much and I don't really need a portal right now. They seem to be unorganized and have alot of things that you really don't need. I have installed WMNews before and I have seen it at work. It is very good for search engines and other things plus it's very easy to customize. |
I will see how this Vbadvanced thing works.
Thanks. |
you know, you don't need to use the entire portal, if the only need you have is the News system... you can deactivate all the other blocks in CMPS...

I use wmnews but not integrated with vbulletin. You're right it's light and well organized, that's why I chose it over phpnuke and the rest, but i don't see where or why you would want vbulletin integrated. wnews got its own comment system and its newsadmin is fine as it is.
