Custom Forum Headers
This hack allows you to use custom forum headers. This is great for community boards such as sports, fansites, or others that would like the header graphics/html to be specific to the forum you are in.
You specify from the AdminCP whether or not to use a custom header, and the folder name on the server where the header.html and graphics will reside. This added bonus of utilizing separate folders means you can allow different forum mods (for example) to customize their headers and update the file and graphics on the server without needing to log into the AdminCP. (This would require separate FTP logins created by you). Code is based in part on FASherman's Forum Headers Hack. I originally got the inspiration for this after seeing another board that had a similar feature. After searching all over the web for 3 days and not finding a hack nor how they implemented it, I finally decided to take a stab at writing this myself. Support will be limited for this hack as I'm simply very busy with other projects atm. I will try to reply to this thread (and this thread only - please do not PM me) as I have time. I will also try and upload a couple of screenshots. I have tried to be as thorough as possible in the instructions. This hack was created using 2.3.5; I have no idea if or how well it would work with other versions, which is why I'm posting in beta first. Enjoy, and please click install if you use it! :D |
