Hey People,

My posts table alone has grown to 350MB +..

Thats about 1 year of posts..

Everytime mysql has to run a qurey on the post table it takes few seconds longer then it would be at 20-30MB.. There can be up to 50-100 people online at one time.. so it does make a different..

Just wondering if there is a way to maybe Archive threads older then 2months..

But its gonna have to some how xfer the old posts into another table.. postarchive for example.. Then when people search it searchs both post and postarchive..

Before i even look into making this myself, just wondering if anyone has seen anything like it and if its even possible without stuffing to much of vb3 up... I searched around vb.org/com didnt really see anything..

hmm, i wrote something like this for vb2, but never had the time to write a similar thing for vb3

also if you want that searching will reveal old an new posts, you have your slow thing again, it won't help to devide them up then ;)

But my serach is used 50times a day.. comapred to 50,000 page refresh's a day..

anyone?
