Question before buying.
 

My current site is phpbb... I'm thinking of switching over to VB :devious: .
But I have a few questions that I need to know before doing so.

My site is based on auctions.
The users have "points" which allows them to sell/buy/trade with other users.
I see you guys have the "point/cash" system for vb to :up: :laugh:

My question is... The current importer script offered from vb.com doesn't support the "points" to transfer from phpbb to vb... Would anyone be able to(I guess) re-write it, but make it so it transfers the points over?.. Without this, there's no sense for me to buy vb.. as I have 20,000 members and don't want to do it all manually for each member, lol.

I'm going into withdraws here, I want vb more then anything!!!! :o hehe

If it helps any... The table for the phpbb point system is located in the phpbb_users, with the table "user_points".

well, once you have a vb license, you will be able to post a request/service request on that issue, and i am sure, someone will jump in to help you :)

Ok... But what's the chances do you think? I don't want to spend $130 to find out no one can make this, lol.

well, as i don't know the phpbb hack itself, i can just guess, but i think, the chances are high.

I mean Zak does such jobs iirc (or at least he said so in the release thread of the shop hack ;))

Is there maybe someone I could talk to... to make sure of this?

Also.. Since I'm here, I might as well ask my other question :P

I'm not to sure what point system there is here... But do any come with something like a "Global Transaction?"

What I mean by "Global Transaction" is... When you goto donate some points to someone... You put there username in, and of course the amount... But below where you put the amount, it also has a spot for you to put a reason for the donation. Then you'd goto the donations page, and it will show who donated to who... Very handy to see where the points are going.

I'm not sure if this is already made... If so, PERFECT! :P... If not, once I get my vb.. I'll post it in the request spot. I'd like to know if it's made or not, it's the last thing I will need for my auction site :D

The current point system doesnt do that at this time, but if you know abit of php you could probaly add that in there, i think weve had a request or two for it as well.


You should be able to take a look at what features the hack currently has., its called uCash & uShop, its located in major addtions of the vB3 hacks release area :)
