Restrict Attachment download by User
 

Alright it's somewhat of a maybe complex idea. Or maybe not.

I have a forum that I only want certain users to download. I could do it by usergroup, but it kind of defeats the purpose because that blocks the entire usergroup.

How it will go is like this.

User A uploads an attachment. Then myself as an admin works with the attachment, then re-uploads it. Then comes in the restrction that only allows the threadstarter to re-download the new attachment I posted.

Obviously I want admins to be able to download anything, but only want users to be able to download attachments in their own thread that they created and when they go try to download another attachment in a thread they didn't start, they are not able to.

It's only for one category and forum I need it for. Not across the board.

Possibly maybe an easier way it could be done.

Setting it up so when user A goes to the forum designated that this hack will take place in will only see only threads they post and admin threads.

That way they won't even see other people's threads just the threads that admins/mods post and their own.
