Database back-up

I have posted this over at .com but not had any replies as yet so I though I would post it here too

I have just backed up my database from my live box and saved it to my HDD, then I dropped all the tables on my test box and imported the saved database to it, everything shows up fine as in all the forums, I can click on a forum and see all the latest threads, but when I click on a thread to see the posts I get the microsoft 404 not found error, I think its looking in the correct place because the address bar shows http://192.168.3.102/portal/forum/showthread.php?t=2985

Has anybody else come across this problem and do you know how I solve it

Regards

Chet

404 would most likely mean showthread.php is not there, vBulletin will throw a error if it can't locate a thread, ensure you have showthread.php uploaded to your server/in the correct directory on your home box.

Amazing fast response there and I'm glad to say that was it, although there is still one problem if you can help me with it, when I click on the thread the address bar shows http://192.168.3.102/portal/192.168....ead.php?t=2986 so I have to delete on of the 192.168.3.102/portal to get it to work, once again thanks for the fast response

Most likely have the forums url set up incorrectly in the vBulletin options.

Go to your admincp, select vBulletin options from the nav frame, select sitename/url/contact details from the selection box and click 'go'

ensure the 'Forum URL' section is set up correctly.
