2 date fields in profile - both on calendar

I am just going through the config/setup of vbulletin. I came across a site that was using vbulletin and had something interesting that I absolutley HAVE to have. The sit/page I am referring to is http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/calendar.php.

My site is a surgery related (not same surgery as theirs) site also and it would be too cool to have the calendar display like theirs.

I see where to add a custom user profile field, however how do you force them to enter their surgery date in a consistant date format? And then, how do you get the calendar to pull that field onto the calendar?

Maybe there isn't a simple solution to this, but it is obviously possible as you can see, it has been done.

Anyone want to tackle this?

alternate option would be to dump 'Birthday' and change it to Surgery Date anywhere it would appear.

I'm sure that would be easier.
