Making Quick Reply a User defined option
 
Quick Reply seems to be the problem for slow thread view pages. To resolve the performance issues caused by Quick Reply, the entire forum can either have it on or off. I request a hack to make Quick Reply an option in the User CP so users can turn it on or off depending on their preference/connection speed, etc.

Instead of using $vboptions['legacypostbit'] you should use $vboptions['quickreply']
