Upmost infuriation!!

Well I just came online to get some resources for some revision for my psychology exam next thursday and logged on to firefox - my one and only browser buddy :D

I thought to myself that I wanted a quick change in its theme so I visited the link listed in the tools > options > themes section in the actual program. I saw a theme I liked and downloaded it. With firefox themes/extensions they download and install automatically so it installed itself and said it had been ok. Then 5 seconds later AVG popped up saying that 2 files had been infected. One which I can't remember now, but the other was xpinstall.exe which is a file assosciated with firefox. Seems as if this site is distributing trojans along with their skins nowadays.

I'm really annoyed with this but it doesn't seem to have done any harm. I've filed a complaint to mozilla.org nevertheless, and we shall see what they have to say about it.

Regards,
- Dean

i know why i don't use this browser, nor installing any skins. ^^

AVG is known for its false positives.. It may very well be a virus, but it won't be due to anything from moxilla or firefox outright..

and there is absolutley nothing wrong with firefox.. it is by far the best browser available, imo.. quality development and updates.. far superior to IE, and Opera, imo, as well..

i really don't understand why people like opera , its coding standard is neither internet explorer or wc3 standard , somewhere between the two and it doesn't support vbulletins dhtml drop down menu's

i thought i would try it out but it lacks basic rendering functionaility that all the bells and whistles do not make up for

it renders the dhtml menu's for me

So basically you are slamming Mozilla for something they had no control over? Say I download a hack from vB.org and it has a message in the readme file saying that I am a fat tub of lard and should die. Should I go email vBulletin and complain about what I read? No. Just like you shouldn't complain to Mozilla.org. Let them know there is a problem, but there is no need for "Upmost infuriation" or the attitude. I've used Mozilla Firefox and previous versions for over 6 months now and have never had a problem.

Be smart and do what I do. Run everything stock. It may not look pretty, but you get the best functionality and speed.

After speaking with them privately this issue has been resolved.
