Re-naming of thread links
Hey all
Is the following possible, or has it been created? Currently, with vB2 when you post a thread you get a link of showthread.php?s=&threadid=1. Is there anyway I can change this so it'd be /threads/thread_title/. Obviously this would use htacces and hacking of the files, but is this possible and if so, how? :) Regards, Chris |

Yes I know, I already mentioned using htaccess. :)
However, from what I know, there's no way to grab the title of the thread, it'd be able to grab the thread ID I'd imagine, but not thread title... |

Sucks, I didn't think about that. Isn't ther any feature or vB hack to disallow dupe thread titles?
|
I think you could add this, but the larger the database gets the longer it would check tot ake dupe threads :/

It's all against me ;).
Thanks for your help. Gonna go with the /thread/thread_id/ method, that'd be better :) |
