[3.0.0 to 3.0.1] Non Portal News system

I am currently developing a news system for VB 3 along with another php developer!

It will allow people using a non portal site to designate a forum for their news stories and place it within their sites theme/template using an include function:

It will contain the following:

  • Will allow for news to be posted with a short part of the news for a front page, example: http://www.sportsrant.com/index3.php
  • Each story will then open up on it's own page instead of going to the actual post in the forums, example:http://www.sportsrant.com/index3.php?n=2486
  • It will also have a print option that is different from the one currenlty in the forums, example: http://www.sportsrant.com/testforums...int.php?n=2486
  • There will be an admin area that will only be accessable to forum administrators to approve new stories posted: not completed yet
  • there will be a wysiwyg editor to submit new stories
  • there are no changes to the vb files, templates, or database tables at all
  • it will work from a subfolder that will be placed within the forums root folder
  • It will uses and change bb code so if users post bold or italic or other bb code the [b] (example) will not show up in the article
  • It will have a submit to a friend link
  • it will have a link to acutally go to the post in the forums to leave a comment if the user is a member of the forums and signed in
  • It will variables that can be changed to match a sites css.
Other Items also are being thought of. Feedback, both positive and negative or ideas would be great

Thanks
Mike
