Integrating existing user login into vB
 

I am projecting a Forum section for my website where there are already a lot of users that have to login to access the website.
I do NOT want them to have to login in again (and prob. with a different username) when they access the Forum. how complicated is it to include the logins into vB

maybe migrate them into vb users tables?

yeah i got the same problem, but if you want to import the users into the vb table, how would you be able to check if they are logged in on your site? is there like a function that can tell you if the user is logged in or not?

Assuming your site is coded in php, I believe there are ways to include them in the 'whos online'. I've seen the code around the site in various hacks.

we are designing a new site with following specs:

The system will be developed using MS ASP.NET and MS SQL Server database. The hosting requirements are:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS 5.0)
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Microsoft Index Search
Microsoft SQL Server 2000

same thing goes - the users will log into the restricted site and I would like to carry over so once the user is in the "members" section that they can post on the forum as they are logged in - i.e. not login with a different name
