Upgrading to vb3 Gold Instructions please.
 

I am currently running vb3 RC4 and want to upgrade to vb3 Gold.

Can somebody PLEASE give to me instructions (as if it was a hack) on how to upgrade my current version to the Gold version.

Kinda like

Replace it with xxxxx

Run this query

Is there any way this can be done?

upload all the new files

run upgrade.php

I got that far. However, that will make me have to reinstall all the hacks I have added to my RC4 system. That is the thing I am trying to avoid.

cant do that, either run old files, or upgrade and run new files, this is how it was done in vB2 and its how it will continue to be done, you hack at your own risk and time.

Whatever, I appreciate the curt and rude response. I thought I might get a bit of help here, but what I got was "You hack your site, you can FO".

However, you hack your site at your own risk and time, and between 3.0.0 RC4 > Gold there are tons of small changes it was still a beta

between 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 there are more small changes.

Your welcome to try to go at it with a program like beyond compare and try to patch the files your self however, i highly recomend you spend your time re hacking, ive upgrade quite a few of my hacked sites from older versions to Gold or .1 with little down time and rehacking.

The price you pay for hacking is the time spent rehacking after each updarte you want to udpate to :)

I hear you. I came off kinda rough myself. I appologize as well.

I know that the upgrade does the db flawlessly. I am just a big gorilla when it comes to hacking so I do not look forward to all the possible typos that come with re-hacking. I will figiure it out tho.

A program that shows you the changes between two (or three) files. In this case what code has changed since vB 3.0.0 to vB 3.0.1.
