Location finder

Im looking for something --- when a user enters his zipcode in his profile and/or registration info, the hack will figure out where he is and put him in a predefined area usergroup --

i.e. a user puts zip code 60551 in his profile -- the system automatically places him in the MIDWEST public group cause it knows that zip is in the chicago area --- then maybe it sends an email to the group leader......
