Admin exemption from censor in vB3?

I used the IMG tag on custom template pages for photo galleries. Rather than fill up my DB with the pictures and end up with a huge SQL backup file, its easier to just call to them from another dir on my server. But I dont want my members using the tag and hot linking from other sites so I used this tip for "exempting Admins from the censor" (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=34116) on my vB2.3.2 forum very well for limiting use of the IMG tag so only I, the admin, could use it. Would this be applicable on VB3 Gold or is there a newer/better way to do this?

Thank you in advance :)

Chris

Do you want Admins exempt for the image tags or exempt for the censor?

Hi Boofo,

Actually since you mention it, I would think I would prefer the Admin exemption for using the tag rather than censoring the IMG. This way IMG tag can be reflected as OFF in the posting rules and cause less confusion.

Did that make sence? :)

Thanks!

Well, I'm not sure where to do that at. Sorry. :(

The censor one NTLDR did the code for it a while back and that's what I use to allow myself and another Admin to be exempted from the censor while everyone else is not.

No problem, I can use the censor option then. Do you have the link handy for his?

Here's the thread. Some changes were made towards the end so you might want to read it all. Don't worry, it is only 5 pages. ;)

That is a crazy thread and I actually did catch that one before I posted this one. Honestly I am a little lost there but I can ask for clarification in that thread and see if a clean post of what needs to be done can be made. LOL

Thanks,

Chris
