www prefix log in problem

if the user doesn't have www. in front of the domain it shows him as not logged in but if he does he is logged in.

How can i fix this?

cookie domain is set at ".domain.name"?

or did you do "www.domiain.name"?

that would be the only thing i can think of.. but mine works fine either way..
