[DECLINED] newthread button on showthread

please can we have the return of this :nervous:

Why would we need it? Then again why wouldnt we? I dont see the point in having it, and i dont see the point in not having it :p lol. just put it back there :>

It's not there because people in full releases and other forums kept making new threads by accident instead of replies :)

I actually have missed it in vB3, but it would likely result in past user stupidity that would outweigh the convenience.

it's funny that the 'user stupidity' as you put it, is from forum admins, someone save them lol

i never saw the sense of the newthreadbutton within showthread, and finally with the new style, the devs agreed with me :)

as i have deleted tons of threads just containing a single post which was planned as an answer to another thread, it's so good to see that won't happen again.

not disputing the decision just the reasoning behind it, surely with all the mods you got and this place being run for admins, your mods shouldn't mind merging a few threads here and there and the admins that this place is run for, should know the difference between posting a reply and making a new thread?

Xenon 03-02-2004 07:18 PM

the word "should" is good choosen here ;)

of course it is not much work to delete/merge such threads, but why increase the work if we could avoid it that easy?

There is no reason in adding a newthread button within showthread.
At least noone came up with one right now, and therefore we will use the vb3 standard way.
