Disable Negative Reputation (completely)
The Problem:
The new reputation system proves to be one of the more controversial new features of vB 3.0. Some members like it, others hate it. To solve the dilemma, I decided to completely disable negative reputations. Now a member can still credit another member for a good post; however, he won't be able to discredit anyone anymore. What the hack does: Beside the required template change, the hack makes sure that even a malicious user cannot "give" negative reputation to other members anymore. Without the hack, the user could write his own html code to post the $reputation=neg variable to the vB system. Great idea!! I'll make sure to install this when I upgrade

I was going to do this myself, you've saved me a lot of time and effort. Thanks. :)
Edit: Really easy to do, and has worked a treat. :) I'd recommend all forums doing this, I really would... |

I am sure this would be possible, but it is far more complex than this mini-mod. I am not planning to spend more time on developing it.

Any way NOT to have any remarks? Reason I am asking is that I just know there will be a few dweebs who will want to give a positive karma/rep but berate the user in the comment section.

To make this forum-specific, can't you just create a child style that removes the negative rep option and make the forums that you want to disable negative rep use the new style?

Nice idea. This should stop some of the Reputation wars. ;)
