small "I (dis)agreed" poll for every posting

(sorry for my english)

I see that many threads are hard to overview/follow, because so many people simply quote other peoples posts to say that they have the same opinion. Sometimes they also post something like "yes!" or "I just wanted to post that" along with the quote...
In extreme it is very bad if two people have a long discussion, and some bystanders always interrupt with "yes, I think so too" or "this is not right in my opinion".

I thought, we could really "cleanup" our forums, if there was a possibility in each post to click "agree/disagree" (only for registered users of course).

So imagine, that you like my idea, and you can click an "agree" button right next this very post and the page reloads and says under my posting:
"[yourname] agrees"

This of course would form a list if many people use the feature - so under each posting, like:

V2 of this hack would also feature a short "shoutline": you can not only agree or disagree, but also say something short (like 40 characters long?).

I though a bit about it and here are the problems:
1.) those (dis)agrees have to be in a seperate db-table and cause extra cpu-load.
2.) it is a complicated hack, is also be included in edit / delete posts/threads and all threadview modes...
3.) if those (dis)agrees do not count towards the "posts"-counter of the user, some might not use the feature, because (at least in our forum) many users like to have as much as possible "posts"
4.) what happens if the author of an post edits his post after other have (dis)agreed with it? maybe the author changed the contents of his post....


I would LOVE this feature - and i hope I can motivate some coders here to code the hack ;)

This is superb! Imagine, also the possiblility "patial agree", and at the end giving the user the possibility to sort the thread by "agreements".

Hmm ... this is already possible with the reputation feature - you can agree/disagree on certain posts and give comments.

Yup, it would be easy to do this with the built in reputation system that already records whether or not a user agrees with a post and allows them to include comments. All you have to do is output the reputation data with the postbit.
