I don't even know how to phrase the search. What I am looking for is the same hack used here and elsewhere that prohibts non-members from seeing "code" or answers to questions.

Would someone point me in the right direction?

I am going to have a membership only forum and I don't care if the others see the questions, but the answers are going to be paid for.

For not seeing answers, you need the spoiler hack. ;)

But they can see the answers if they highlight the spoiler area. Check out the Block code hack I released. That is more what you need for what you are trying to do, I think. ;)

Boofo: I remember coming here and forgot to sign in, and when I looked at the code it wasn't code.....I don't remember what it said, this was a couple of years ago. That's the type of thing I want. I'll go look at your Block code hack.

I think I have a block code that will work for vB2 somewhere. Let me know if you don't find what you need and I will see if I can put it together for you. ;)

Hi again Boffo, I am to the point of needing something like your Block Code hack, but in my instance it would be to block replies or the text within a reply to users who can "view" the forum as unpaid members.

IOW the unpaid users could see all the questions but not our answers. We are identifying different pieces of glassware and I will be charging for it.

Since your hack involved code, Php etc. I didn't know if it would work on regular text or if it was overkill.

There will be only certain user groups that will be able to see the answers.

If you could give me an idea if the Block Code will work for me, I'll give it a try.

Most of the deciding what to blaoc and not to bloack is done in the template. Take a look at the code I did for each template and you will see where I did an if condition for the bbuserid. You can do the same thing with usergroups with this hack, too. Does that answer your question? If not, let me know and I will do a sample code for you on what you are trying to do. ;)
