Emails DO NOT contain post contents
 

Not really a true hack request per se, but rather a question. I want to make the email messages that you get sent NOT contain the contents of the post, as it was by default in vB 2.x. Just can't seem to figure out what file to edit to make it that way.

Just edit the notify phrase IIRC.

To be honest alot of my members really love seeing the message, i really hated the vB2 version where you didnt get to see any of the message >.> but i belive NTLDR is right :)

Its split evenly 50/50 as to those who like it and those who don't like it. I want it off becuase I want the members to come back to the boards.

I'll try what you said NTLDR and let you know if I got it worked out or not. Of course, I sitll have to implement that GoogleAd postbit thing you posted up yesterday as well. :)

Seems to me like you should maybe add a field onto the user table, so that it asks them in their profile if they'd like to see the message in the e-mail or not. That would make a lot of people happy, hopefully 100%

If I knew exactly what to do, I might.

The thing was that members were like "wow, this is kind of neat now, why did you change it" referring to the fact they got contents of posts in the emails. I'm not really worried about it now that it's gone as we've been working without the contents of the post in the email for so long its really not that important. :)

If you'd like me to I could write you a hack to do it, shouldn't be that hard.

If you have time, I'd like to see it. Would be something that I would probaly implement. :)
