Member group based on referrals
 

We have a new site in development that relies heavily on referrals. What I owuld like to do is change someones member group based on their number of referrals, or at the very least display a different icon in their postbit depending on how many referrals they have. It sounds really easy to do in theory, but I have very little experience with vbulletin 3 so I don't really know where to start. Anyone have any suggestions or a quick set of code I can modify and pop i nto my site?

I think this should be suggested at vB.com to be part of there Promotions system that vB has.

To get them to change usergroup I'd run a cron script every hour that fetches all users in usergroup X who have refered Y people and have it automaticlly change there user/member group.

I agree, when I saw the promotions system I had to look twice because I was almost sure the option would be in there.
